Concrete can take on varying shapes, colors and specifications.

Ready-mix concrete is individually batched specific for your needs. Whether you're pouring a foundation for your home, a new driveway, sidewalk or walls... we have you covered.

Concrete is sold by volume, not by weight and is measured in cubic yards. We have a calculator located below if you need help. Click here to jump to it.

We do offer options for Master Builders Solutions micro and macro fibers, colors and a variety of admixtures. Depending on your color selection, it may be possible with little to no lead time.

Our focus is supplying concrete. We are not concrete finishers.

Many factors are involved in pricing concrete. We will need to know:

Strength requirements
Quantity of yards needed

Delivery

Our trucks are based out of our plant in Aurora and are rear-discharge and haul a maximum of 10 yards per load. The trucks are approximately:

32 feet long
8 feet wide
12.5 feet high
16 foot chute length max
70,000 pounds

Remember, these trucks are heavy! A driver may choose not to drive on unstable ground.

In order to be on time for our other deliveries, we ask that trucks are off loaded in a reasonable time. We consider that to be 5 minutes per yard.

AGGREGATE

If you're putting in a new driveway, helping out an old driveway, or putting up a building... we can help.

We've proudly been supplying aggregates in Northern Minnesota since 2012 and we take our quality seriously.

Red Top Construction also offers site preparation and trucking services to get you what you need.

Please note that we do have a minimum load size of 10 yards for trucking and we do not load out anything smaller than 5 yards.

Not sure what material you need? There are many different specifications of aggregates. Let's look at a few.

Aggrgate

Class Five

Class five has rock and binder that is no larger than 1". It is used for topping driveways and building pads.

Crushed & Washed Rock

Available in two sizes (3/4" and 1 1/2") and has no binder. It is useful for rock gardens and for drainage projects.

Pea Rock

Pea rock is small, washed rocks with no binder. Ideal for landscaping projects.

Select Granular Borrow

Select has rock no larger than 3" and binder. It is commonly used for starting driveways and building pads.

Sand

Our sand is taken straight out of the natural bank. It can be used for landscaping purposes.

Pit Run

A natural material straight from the bank, will be rocky with rocks around 12" in diameter. Can be used for large fills.

Rip Rap

Our rip rap is screened rock with no binder, ranging from 3-24" in diameter and is perfect for landscaping projects.

Boulders

The pit produces very large boulders that can be used for landscaping projects.

Crushed Blacktop

Crushed blacktop is just that! It is most commonly used for driveways.

Washed Sand

Washed sand is sand that has the organics washed out. It is used for beach sand or for installing septics.

If you're interested in aggregates, trucking and/or site prep work, reach out for a quote! Please note that we typically book 2-3 weeks out on any site prep projects. Our trucks operate in Northeastern St. Louis County.

ABOUT

Red Top Construction was established in 2012 by Ben Dickinson starting as a custom crushing business that expanded into aggregate sales, delivery and site preparation. We supply aggregates to home owners, local municipalities and contractors through loading materials out in the pit, as well as transporting.

Red Top Ready-Mix, owned by Taylor Dickinson was established in 2022 as a ready-mixed concrete business. Many months were spent refining our mix designs, meeting with vendors and seeking education. In July 2023, the first yards were poured from our plant.

Red Top Construction proudly employees union operators through Local 49 and Red Top Ready-Mix is a Minnesota Certified Targeted Group business, as a women owned business.

Safety

Red Top Construction and Ready-Mix are dedicated to creating a safe working environment for our team.

We comply with MSHA, OSHA and MPCA regulations as necessary.
PPE requirements are strictly enforced. Anyone around mobile equipment is required to wear steel-toed boots, and high visibility clothing.
Our trucks are DOT/FMCSA compliant. Our drivers possess proper commercial driver licenses (CDL's) and participate in a drug and alcohol testing program.
Employees receive safety training as needed.

Quality

Quality is not always important to some small businesses, but it is to us! We want to ensure your project stands the test of time and has all your neighbors asking.

We conduct testing of our products to ensure quality is only changing for the better! In addition, we work with top notch product vendors to ensure our clients are receiving a great product.

Taylor is a Certified Plant Manager through the NRMCA and a MNDOT Aggregate Production Tester and Concrete Plant Tester.

CONTRACTORS

If you are looking for aggregate loaded out, we do ask that you call to schedule load-out. If you're in need of a specific specification for concrete or aggregate, just reach out.

Contractors need to pay COD unless credit has been established prior to the order being placed. Sales tax will be charged unless an exemption form is presented.
